An Arc of Gold

About this piece

A golden grass plume spans the frame in a broad curve, its fine bristles sharply defined against soft green foliage. A second, rose-tinted plume echoes the arc below, giving this botanical close-up a layered rhythm of color and line.

The story

I was drawn to the way this single stem bowed across the green, carrying its small weight of seeds. Through the lens, the surrounding foliage became a wash of color, leaving the fine golden bristles to hold my attention. Below them, a pink plume repeated the same gesture more softly. I framed the two curves together, wanting to preserve the quiet grace of something so easily passed without a second look.
