An Arc of Green

About this piece

A slender green blade curves across a field of amber, orange, and deep red, its reflection forming a second arc below. Fine parallel veins and clear droplets remain sharply defined against the softly blurred surroundings.

The story

I brought the camera close until the green blade became the central line of the photograph. Around it, warm colors softened into broad patches of light, while the reflection traced a quieter curve below. My attention settled on the small drop at the crest, barely rising above the green edge. At this scale, there was little to separate a blade of grass from a bridge, or a bead of water from a world.
