A tightly cropped floral study brings scarlet petals into sharp relief beside the sweeping curves of a yellow bloom. Water droplets articulate their surfaces, while deep shadow separates the two saturated fields of color.
The story
I was drawn to the narrow darkness between the flowers, where the yellow petals nearly touch the red. Moving closer, I let the blooms extend beyond the frame until their shapes mattered as much as their color. Tiny drops held the light along each fold and edge. I wanted to keep that contrast intact: the loose sweep of yellow, the dense layers of scarlet, and the quiet space between them.
