A weathered wooden barn anchors the left side of a rolling pasture, with distant mountain ridges beneath an expansive blue sky. A wire fence draws the eye diagonally toward the low sun at right, where golden light grazes the grass and casts long shadows. The bare tree’s fine branches lend a spare counterpoint to the saturated field.

The story

Early November finds the pasture still green, its blades edged with gold beneath the low sun. Beside the barn, weathered boards alternate between light and shade. The fence climbs the slope toward the brightness, passing a tree whose exposed branches trace the sky. Beyond this small enclosure, blue ridges carry the eye into a quieter distance.
