The story

November begins with the valleys holding a thin veil of mist. Bronze and olive tones gather along the wooded slopes, while pale gold light catches the open fields below. Each ridge gives way to another, its edges softened by the distance. Small buildings and fine lines of power cables mark a human presence, almost absorbed by the sweep of the land.
