Autumn Over the Weir

About this piece
Water spills in fine vertical ribbons over a broad weir, with a smaller rocky cascade and rustic buildings set among the trees beyond. Soft light reveals the pale falling water and weathered stone, while scarlet and orange foliage frames the right edge. The strong horizontal sweep of the falls anchors a composition rich in autumn texture.
The story
Late October gathers in the scarlet leaves above the water. The river reaches the straight edge of the weir and loosens into a silver curtain, breaking into foam below. Beyond it, a smaller cascade threads between rocks beneath thinning branches. Stone steps climb the left bank toward buildings partly concealed by trees. Amid the season’s bright remnants, the water keeps its steady voice.
