The story
December finds the beachfront filled with gold. Between the palms, the low sun sends a fan of light across the white wall, catching its rounded edges. Beyond it, picnic tables and volleyball nets stand empty beside the water. The eye follows the sweep of the masonry, then lifts through dark fronds into the clear blue sky.
