The story
November light settles across the water in layers of blue. Between two posts, the little boat rests with its mooring rope tracing a low curve above the surface. Ripples loosen its reflection into narrow ribbons, briefly breaking the white lettering on its hull. Farther out, a sailboat holds a faint silhouette against the hazy horizon.
