Low sunlight shines through a long pier above blue waves, casting golden reflections across wet sand.

Where Gold Meets Water

About this piece

A lamp-lined pier extends diagonally from the right foreground toward the distant sea, its repeating supports standing in breaking waves. Low sunlight forms a starburst beneath the railing, washing clouds and wet sand in gold against the cooler blue water. The strong architectural rhythm gives structure to a luminous, tranquil coastal scene.

The story

On this November day, the sun sits low enough to slip through a narrow opening in the pier. Gold spreads across the wet sand as a small wave folds around the concrete supports. Along the railing, lamps diminish into the distance, their silhouettes quiet against the bright sky. The water draws back, leaving a thin reflective surface where the light briefly gathers.
