Where Green Glows

Backlit leaves fill the frame with deep green and luminous yellow, their central ribs tracing strong diagonals across the composition. Fine veins, small blemishes, and uneven edges retain their detail beside the bright openings of sky.

The story

I looked up into the leaves and found the light held in their green surfaces. The broad ribs gave my eye a path to follow, while the finer veins made each illuminated patch feel carefully drawn. I framed the space between the leaves as closely as the leaves themselves. That bright, irregular opening kept the image from closing in, leaving a little sky inside this small study of green.
