About this piece
Four jets hold a compact formation beneath an immense curve of white smoke, their angular silhouettes set against saturated blue sky. Sunlight reveals the smoke’s billowing texture, while the vertical composition balances its expansive sweep with the precise spacing of the aircraft.
The story
On the first day of 2019, four aircraft trace a shared turn through open blue. Their wings catch the light beneath a broad canopy of smoke. Close to the jets, the trails remain narrow and distinct; farther behind, they spread into soft, overlapping folds. The year opens here with a contrast of crisp edges and dissolving white, a moment of order held within the moving air.
