Geometry Of Ascent

About this piece

Four jets bearing USAF markings form a compact diamond against an uninterrupted blue sky, their white surfaces accented with red and dark blue. Bright light defines the aircraft while widening smoke trails draw the eye through the tall composition, balancing precise alignment with turbulent texture.

The story

On the first day of 2019, four aircraft hold their measured places in an expanse of blue. Light catches the wings, and small red points mark the forward edge of the formation. Behind them, white smoke loosens into curls, its crisp beginnings giving way to a broad, drifting weave. The new year finds a visual rhythm here: clear direction above, traces slowly unravelling below.
