The Shape of Air

About this piece
A gray fighter jet crosses the frame on a rising diagonal, its angular wings and twin tail fins partly veiled by white condensation. Bright light catches the metal surfaces and vapor against an uninterrupted blue sky, holding forceful movement in a moment of visual stillness.
The story
On this January day, the sky offers a field of blue without a horizon. White vapor gathers over the wings, briefly giving the passing air a visible shape. The pointed nose emerges cleanly from the haze while the tail remains threaded with wisps. For an instant, hard metal and shifting moisture share a single outline.
