Green Radiance

About this piece

A fan palm leaf fills the frame, its pleated surface unfolding in bands of luminous yellow-green and deep green shadow. Fine veins remain visible across the sharper central folds, while softer edges turn the leaf’s radial structure into an almost abstract composition.

The story

I moved close enough for the leaf to fill my view, leaving the surrounding world outside the frame. Its folds drew my eye toward the bright meeting point at the right, then sent it outward again along narrow lines of yellow light. Between those lines, the greens deepened. I wanted to hold that balance: the delicate texture of a living leaf and the broad, generous shape of its unfolding.
