Silken water threads between weathered rocks beneath a dense canopy of leaves and branches. A small stone lantern anchors the middle distance, its geometric form contrasting with the layered foliage and irregular course of the stream.
The story
I followed the water with my eye until the small stone lantern emerged from the green. It seemed almost hidden by the garden, another quiet shape among the rocks and ferns. I framed the stream as it widened toward me, keeping the dark tree trunk at the edge. What held my attention was the contrast: each leaf sharply present, while the water softened the spaces between stones into something continuous.
