The story

I paused above the steps where the white walls narrowed the view before releasing it toward the sea. Ahead, a traveler with a camera turned back, briefly interrupting the descent. I liked how that glance brought a human scale to the broad sweep of water and cliffs. The blue domes echoed the bay, while shadows marked each stair below us. For a moment, the passage mattered as much as the panorama.
