The story
On this August day, gold gathers along the cloud edges and spreads across the water. Across the channel, palms cluster around low buildings, and the lighthouse holds its small, concentrated flame of light above them. The near seawall is rough and dark, marked by pale traces of marine growth. Beyond its hard edge, the water softens every reflection.
