About this piece

A small cascade descends through a narrow opening between boulders, its softened water framed by vivid green moss and copper-colored leaves. Cool, subdued light reveals the rough stone and wet foliage, while the broad rock face at right anchors the composition in stillness.

The story

Late October gathers in the creases of the rocks, where fallen leaves settle into damp copper layers. Water slips through the narrow passage, turning pale and soft against the dark stone. Moss holds its green along the boulders, a vivid counterpoint to the fading foliage. Within this close enclosure, autumn feels less like an ending than a slow accumulation.
