The story

Late July light settles across the white walls, leaving narrow pockets of shade beneath the pergolas. Below the terraces, golden slopes fall toward a thin turquoise margin at the water’s edge. A small boat draws a pale wake across the blue, its passage almost weightless beside the immense cliff. Pools hold bright fragments of colour among the buildings, and the sea stretches beyond them without enclosure.
