About this piece
A green gecko rests along an orange-red wooden edge, its finely textured head and splayed toes held in selective focus. Warm light and strong diagonals surround the small animal with saturated color, while turquoise accents around its eyes sharpen the portrait’s watchful stillness.
The story
On this December day, the frame holds a pocket of glowing color. The gecko presses its pale toes against the rough wood, its green body following the slant of the edge. A narrow blue rim catches the light around its dark eye. Beyond that small, alert face, the world softens into rose and plum.
