About this piece

Seen from below, a dense bamboo grove rises toward irregular openings of blue sky and white cloud. Slender, jointed stems converge overhead, while sunlight turns the canopy yellow-green and traces bright edges along the shaded culms. The composition balances a sense of soaring height with the enclosure of foliage.

The story

On this December day, green fills almost every space above. The eye follows one bamboo stem upward, past its measured joints, until it disappears among narrow leaves. Sunlight gathers on the smooth surfaces and breaks into small bright fragments through the canopy. Between the leaning stems, the sky offers a quiet opening.
