A split coconut husk occupies the foreground of a stone seawall, while a long bridge recedes across turquoise water toward the horizon. Strong sunlight illuminates the orange fibers and repeated bridge piers, setting their warm tones against the expansive blue sea and sky. The close, rough textures anchor a composition otherwise defined by distance and openness.
The story
On this August day, sunlight catches the torn fibers of a coconut husk and lays its shadow across the stone. Beyond it, the bridge measures the water in steadily diminishing intervals. Small ripples break the blue surface beneath its piers, while pale clouds spread overhead. The eye travels outward, then returns to the husk's tangled interior, where the same light gathers on a smaller scale.
