The story

Late July light fills the water with a shimmer that seems almost solid. Above it, laid tables wait beneath circles of woven shade, their repeating forms leading toward the open sea. Palm fronds spread across the terrace, green edged with gold. Below the glass railing, painted buildings hold their own small, motionless skyline. Farther out, boats appear slight against the breadth of blue.
