Rounded, wet stones fill the foreground, their dark surfaces and occasional rust-colored markings giving way to a pale veil of water above. Reflected light traces their contours as the composition moves from dense, tactile detail toward near-white abstraction, creating a quiet tension between solidity and motion.
The story
In early December, the water lays a silver veil over the stones. Each exposed curve catches a little light; each hollow holds a darker trace. Small patches of rust and ochre interrupt the gray, drawing the eye back from the luminous wash. The stones remain distinct below, while farther into the frame their edges soften until there is almost nothing left to follow.
