About this piece

Seen from below, a natural rock arch spans towering orange walls, enclosing a vivid opening of blue sky and fine white clouds. Strong sunlight reveals fissures and layered textures, while deep shadows lend weight to the surrounding stone. The composition balances geological mass against an airy central void.

The story

September light rests on the rock, bright along its ridges and subdued within its folds. The eye climbs from broken ledges toward the broad span overhead. Beyond it, thin clouds feather the blue, their softness set against every fracture and seam. For a moment, the opening seems less a gap in the stone than a place where the sky gathers.
