The story

Late July light settles on the mangrove leaves, turning their edges gold-green. Between the small stands, blue sky seems to reach down through the water. Roots spread like slender supports, holding each crown above its wavering reflection. A few ripples loosen the mirrored branches, but the distant green shore remains an unbroken line.
