Blue Holds the Silence

About this piece
A closed blue door and louvered window occupy adjacent white-edged recesses in a pale plaster facade. Directional sunlight reveals peeling paint, exposed wood, and the wall’s granular surface, while projecting stones cast elongated shadows. The frontal composition balances repeated rectangles with irregular textures, giving the facade a quiet, enduring presence.
The story
Late July light settles across the pale wall, catching the raised edges of blue paint. The shutters remain fastened, their narrow slats holding small bands of darkness. Beside them, the door offers its worn panels and metal fittings to the sun. Each projecting stone draws a shadow across the plaster, and the closed facade becomes a quiet measure of passing light.
