The story

August light glints along the falling water, breaking each stream into bright beads. Above the spray, the figure holds its wings open against long strokes of cloud. Small visitors gather at the distant edge of the pool, their scale making the fountain seem taller still. In the foreground, green leaves lift clear of the surface while the reflected monument gently comes apart in ripples.
