The story
On this March day, the low sun turns the water gold beneath a band of pink sky. The pelican holds its place on the railing, webbed feet spread against the grain of the wood. Light catches the fine feathers along its crown, leaving a delicate bright edge. Beyond it, the pier narrows toward distant figures, but here the bird’s stillness fills the frame.
