About this piece
Two pelicans face the viewer from a weathered wooden railing, their gray breasts and long bills set against luminous water. The story
On this March day, the sun hangs just above the water, a small bright circle beside the pelicans. Their webbed feet rest on wood whose grain catches the golden light. One stands tall while the other settles lower, each holding its own patch of railing. Beyond their still bodies, fine ripples break the reflected color into countless small movements.
