A tightly framed succulent reveals a rosette of fleshy leaves, their muted green and lilac surfaces warmed by golden light. Overlapping shadows emphasize the plant’s sculptural structure, while fine surface textures soften its angular forms.
The story
I moved closer until the surrounding garden became a blur of green and gold. What held my attention was the space between the leaves: each small shadow gave the next pale surface its shape. Through the camera, the succulent seemed both tightly gathered and quietly expansive. I framed the spiral without its outer boundary, letting the leaves continue beyond the photograph, and kept that meeting of cool color and warm light at its center.
