An Edge Across Blue

About this piece

Seen head-on against a clear blue sky, a flying-wing aircraft stretches almost symmetrically across the frame. Light traces its upper edges and cockpit while the underside remains deeply shaded, giving the broad engineered form a sense of suspended stillness.

The story

On this May day, the sky offers no cloud to measure the aircraft’s passage. A narrow line of light follows the wings, separating dark metal from blue. The cockpit rises just above their long sweep, a small interruption in an otherwise spare silhouette. For a moment, forward motion reads as stillness, with nothing beneath it but open air.
