A Fan Of Light

About this piece
A tightly cropped palm leaf fills the frame, its pleated surfaces radiating from the lower edge. Light reveals fine parallel veins in luminous yellow-green, while deep green shadows give the folds sculptural depth. The repeating lines lend this intimate botanical study a measured, expansive rhythm.
The story
On this November day, the leaf holds a vivid field of green. Light travels along its raised folds, revealing delicate veins before falling into the darker channels between them. The eye follows these narrow paths outward, beyond the edges of the frame. For a moment, the world contracts to the texture of a single leaf.
