The story
August light spreads a golden band across the edge of the sea. Between the rocks, small pools hold fragments of sky, each enclosed by a different contour of stone. Water softens into pale blue beyond the green-fringed shore, while clouds rise in violet columns along the horizon. The eye moves outward, from the nearest hollow to the open water, and finds nothing to interrupt the distance.
