About this piece
White water descends across a stepped rock face, its softened movement contrasting with the sharply textured stone. Green moss and foliage frame the cascade, while a narrow band of turquoise water anchors the vertical composition.
The story
I followed the water with my eyes, from the leafy edge above to the blue-green pool below. At each ledge, the current separated into finer threads before gathering again into a broad white fall. I wanted the photograph to hold that contrast: the restless water and the dark stone that gave it shape. Within the frame, small patches of moss offered another measure of the place, quiet and persistent beside the rush.
