The story

Early September light reaches the upper walls, turning their rippled edges a fierce orange. Below, shadow gathers in folds of purple and rose. The stone seems to billow, yet every ridge holds still beneath the slender blue opening. Between the dark enclosure and the bright rim, the sky feels suddenly far away.
