About this piece
A banking fighter jet fills the frame, its angular wings veiled in white condensation against a saturated blue sky. Sunlight catches the metallic panels and amber canopy, while slender vapor trails extend beyond the edges, giving the sharply defined aircraft a sense of suspended motion.
The story
On the first day of 2019, the sky holds a bright, spare geometry. A point of sunlight burns amber on the canopy, warming the aircraft’s gray surfaces. Air becomes briefly visible over the wings, gathering into pale veils before streaming away. The year begins here with a turn, its path drawn in white across the blue.
