Warm directional light reveals the ridges and pointed crown of a seashell at the water’s edge, casting a long shadow across textured sand. Curving bands of white foam surround its solid form, setting the shell’s intricate surface against the shifting patterns of the surf.
The story
I kept the frame close to the sand, letting the shell fill the foreground while the water drew its own lines around it. Sunlight caught the raised ridges, turning cream into amber and leaving the far side cool with shadow. For a moment, the foam formed a pale border between shell and shore. I pressed the shutter before that border dissolved, drawn to the contrast between something so finely built and something already disappearing.
