Six blue-and-yellow jets cross the sky in a triangular formation, their white smoke trails stretching toward the right edge of the frame. A low ocean horizon and scattered boats establish the scale beneath this precise aerial arrangement.

The story

I followed the six jets across the sky, keeping the sea at the bottom of my frame. Below them, boats scattered across the blue water seemed almost motionless. What held my attention was the spacing: each aircraft distinct, each white trail widening behind it. For a moment, the sky offered a geometry the water could not, while the small wakes below traced their own less orderly paths.
