The story
On this first day of April, the sun rests at the edge of the sea beneath a lattice of bare wood. Gold gathers in the shallow pools between the rocks, and fine ripples carry its colour outward. Green leaves crowd the shaded shore while the long limbs reach into open sky. A small boat sits far beyond them, its dark shape scarcely interrupting the horizon.
