A waterfall descends through layered rock beneath dense foliage, its smooth white flow set against dark, sharply textured stone. Warm light catches the broad ledges on the right and scattered yellow leaves above, balancing the shaded pool with a quiet luminosity.

The story

Late October gathers in the shallow hollows of the stone, where fallen leaves rest above the current. Water slips past the broad ledge and becomes a pale ribbon against the shadowed rock. Light reaches across the upper surfaces, revealing their grain and the small green growth in their seams. Below, the stream carries that brightness into the dark pool.
