A Clearing For Summer

About this piece

Groups of people sit and recline across a broad park lawn, with city buildings rising beyond the distant trees. Deep foreground shade opens onto sunlit grass, while large leafy canopies frame an expansive blue sky. The composition balances the city's vertical forms with the relaxed, scattered rhythms of shared leisure.

The story

August light fills the clearing, reaching the grass in bright patches beneath the trees. Blankets mark small islands where people settle close together, while others walk toward the open lawn. Beyond the foliage, warm-colored towers catch the sun. The city remains in sight, but here the afternoon makes room for lingering.
