About this piece
A blue glazed ceramic frog spreads its limbs across dark wooden slats flecked with orange, surrounded by brightly painted ornaments. Strong sunlight catches the glossy surface and casts crisp shadows beneath its feet, while shallow focus softens the display behind it. The frontal composition gives the small decorative figure an expansive, playful presence.
The story
On this March day, sunlight gathers along the ceramic frog’s blue brow and outstretched toes. Its painted red smile faces outward, framed by yellow patches and a green crown. Beneath it, rough wood breaks into orange flecks, answering the brilliant colors of the surrounding ornaments. Nothing moves, yet the spread of its limbs holds the suggestion of a leap.
