The story

Late June finds the shore bright with small yellow flowers and the pale tangle of dry stems. Between the rocks, water gathers the sun’s color in narrow pools and widening ribbons. The eye follows that light outward, past scattered outcrops toward the low silhouette of distant land. Along the foreground edge, stone and earth remain dark and textured beneath the luminous sky.
