The story

Late June arrives beneath a broad ceiling of blue-gray cloud. Along the bluff, rust-colored and green foliage hugs the rough stone, bringing warmth to the cool coastal light. Below, white surf traces the dark rocks and dissolves into blue water. The lighthouse stands above these small movements, its glass lantern holding the pale color of the sky.
