About this piece

Turquoise surf curves across a narrow sandy beach beneath fractured coastal rocks. Soft light reveals the stone’s granular surfaces, while the massive foreground rock face anchors the right edge against the open sea and sky. White foam draws the eye toward the central outcrop, balancing geological weight with the movement of water.

The story

Late June finds the shore washed in blue and green beneath a veil of cloud. A wave spreads a thin white edge across the sand, reaching into the spaces between fallen stones. Beyond it, the upright outcrop breaks the horizon into blunt, weathered planes. Water withdraws with a soft hiss, leaving the beach briefly smooth and shining.
