About this piece
A white duck floats just right of center, its orange bill turned left against a field of blue-gray water. Light reveals the layered, slightly ruffled plumage, while dark reflections and widening ripples lend a measured rhythm to the quiet animal portrait.
The story
On this June day, a white duck rests low in the water, its loose feathers lifting along its back. Pale light gathers on its breast and breaks into wavering fragments beneath it. Each small movement sends another curve across the surface. The rings spread beyond the bird, carrying its presence toward the edges of the frame.
