An Ember Curled

About this piece
An orange seahorse fills the vertical frame, its bowed head and tightly curled tail outlined against pale, porous coral. Concentrated light reveals the ridges and dark speckles of its body, while the subdued background gives this intimate portrait a sculptural stillness.
The story
At November’s close, the frame holds a small ember of orange light. The seahorse bends its head toward the pale branching forms, its long snout tracing a quiet diagonal. Fine ridges catch the brightness, and scattered spots interrupt the glowing surface. Below, the tail turns inward, gathering the composition into a single, unhurried curl.
