Chrome And Marigold

About this piece

A tightly cropped view of a Ferrari’s rear brings yellow racing stripes, a decorative skull, and chrome lettering into a field of metallic gray and vivid red. Strong light picks out the paint’s fine texture and polished emblems, while small reflections of surrounding figures gather in the dark horizontal trim. Diagonal bands and sculpted contours give the stationary surface a sense of momentum.

The story

On this November day, light settles sharply on metal, turning the yellow stripes into bright paths across the frame. An ornate skull rests above the lettering, its fine curls contrasting with the broad geometry of the bodywork. Reflected figures become fleeting fragments along the dark trim. Below them, the chrome horse holds its raised gesture against a sweep of red.
