About this piece
A tightly cropped view of a gold Chevrolet brings together Duke’s flags, cartoon cat emblems, an automobile club badge, and a yellow auxiliary lamp. Reflected trees ripple across the polished bodywork, while cool blue highlights on chrome and fabric contrast with the warm paint and glass. The dense arrangement turns the car’s front into a small display of affiliation and ornament.
The story
On this November day, the car holds a patchwork of sky and trees in its polished curves. Three small flags rise above the plaque, their dark fabric edged with blue light. A painted cat grins beside the weathered badge, and the yellow lamp gathers brightness in its ribbed glass. Everything rests close together: metal, cloth, lettering, and the small emblems that make a machine feel personal.
